NICOSIA – Irish low-cost airline Ryanair has agreed to include Larnaca in its destinations.
Hermes Airports Spokesman Adamos Aspris confirmed the decision, describing it as a “very important development.”
He said Ryanair’s presence on the island woud “further enrich Cyprus’ air connectivity with Europe and would be a catalyst in efforts to increase the influx of tourism to the island”.
Ryanair is scheduled to hold a press conference on Wednesday, August 18 in Nicosia, to announce the decision to start flights to and from Cyprus. Hermes Airports, the Cyprus Tourism Organisation and the government have been coordinating efforts to bring the Irish airline to Cyprus.
Ryanair is the third largest airline in Europe in terms of passenger numbers and the largest in the world in terms of international passenger numbers.

Ryanair and budget airlines coming to a country on a regular basis has been proven to improve the property markets near to the airports they land in considerably. As being able to return on visits to UK cheaply is a decider on purchasing apparently.
