I am stil waiting for Bananiot to give me concrete examples of what further concessions the GC side must make inorder to deserve the adjective realistic.

Well bananiot was hoping for zan to get him out of this but it looks like GR's right. Even Zan's lost all hope of providing explanations and has resorted to one liner's to hide his embarassement.

Your only response to the rotating presidency has been to state you're not allergic to anything Turkish, as for Nikitas's question you've ignored it completely.

Bananiot, we'd all appreciate your thoughts on the subject and you're too large to hide behind zan (must be all that food and drink with all these peace festivals)....we can still see you.

Is the whole of EU racist then? Because that is exactly what they have. 6 months each no matter what size population.

Just imagine 6 months of Turkish Presidency in EU, God help EU. That's all I can say.

Wasn't rotating presidency in exchange for the vice president Vito? So this would be a compromise by both sides then.

Point is that the time for negotiating is fast evaporating, this is caused by maximalist demands when structured from the perspective of utopic democratic governance. As GR DT etc. keep ignoring that just as Denktas's status quo was no solution, their intransigence is also perpetuating the status quo - the real world is moving on.
Some people get that if you want unification then compromise is necessary.

"utopic democratic government"

Strange adjective "utopic". some facts are worth remembering: Cyprus is a member of the Council of Europe and signatory of the European Convention of Human Rights. Any settement that overlooks this bit will be open to individual challenges at the ECHR.

Second fact- Cyprus is a member of the EU so the settlement will have to take that into account too, and there may be slight temporary deviations from EU norms, but they cannot be radical nor permanent.

Third fact- the greater the number of displaced persons that get full land restitution the greater the chances of the settlement being acceptable to the GCs. So when Eroglu rejects any territorial adjustment and refuses to see how property is linked to territory he knowingly and wilfully is torpedoing the talks.

It is strange that Turkey, which has faced these problems with Greek properties in Istanbul, Imvros and Tenedos, has not reminded him of the need to be realistic and compromise in a manner that will not create problems in the future.
