Adopted by the Cyprus Forum on 12th August 2010
The Cyprus Forum,
Having heard the complaints of Miltiades and examined all the evidence pertaining to his predicament,
Concerned at the declaration by the unrecognized “NCFP” that Miltiades has been placed under a virtual house arrest as his posts are to be scrutinized for controversial content,
Considering that this declaration is incompatible with the freedom of expression act.
Reaffirming the need for transparency of forum and talkback rules.
Aware of the need for a solution of the Miltiades problem, based on the mission of good offices undertaken by the Cyprus Forum,
Affirming its continuing support for the Moderators and Administrators on the Cyprus Forum,
1. Deplores the declaration of the “NCFP” of the purported secession of one of its members;
2. Considers the declaration referred to above as legally invalid and calls for its withdrawal;
3. Calls for the urgent and effective implementation of the freedom of expression act.
4. Calls upon the parties to cooperate fully with the Cyprus Forum Moderators.
5. Calls upon all Forums and Talkbacks to respect the right of Miltiades to freely express himself in accordance with the freedom of expression act.
