The problem with some people is, they only think equal rights only means that one can vote, but there are many aspects to what equal rights mean, such as equality to jobs, education, freedom of expression and movement, equal protection under the law, equality in the court system and Justice and so on. America is yet not perfect, but they have come a long way since 1776.!

Ok here goes, Blacks in the UK ARE discriminated against, BECAUSE of their attitudes, I was born in Brixton (South London) in the 60's, the 1st wave of immigrants were decent people with strong moral and family values.

Consequent generations were pandered to(Yes even then!), afraid of offending them, a blind eye was turned by councils, schools etc and a vast majority of them, chose an easier life, because of increased crime and fear of, we moved out to Kent in 1971,some 30 Years later I was working for the Metropolitan Police in Lewisham's Control room where it really opened my eyes; TRUE FACTS (from true figures), 95% of Street Robberies are carried out, by "Those of a diverse ethnicity".

Just before I quit to move here, Lewisham Borough had a huge anti-Street Robbery initiative, Lewisham, Deptford, New Cross, Sydenham and Catford were flooded by TSG, stops galore revealed ;outstanding warrants,all mannner of Restricted drugs and weapons, but on the debrief, the excercise was deemed a Failure!!!!, Because Officers had not stopped a proportionate Number of White suspects!!!!. Rant over

My wifes nan used to run across the road to touch a blackmans hair for luck........I have heard that my wifes parents moved from the area they lived in because just one black family moved in....How else were these people to react

And how about TV shows like "Till Death Us Do Part", where it was a very racist show towards blacks and immigrants by calling them "wogs", so as you said Zan, what did the whites expect in return. People of colour only in the last 20 years or so have been able to start getting ahead in life in the white man's world. They were denied most of their basic rights for centuries. People steal and commit crimes because they do/did not have another alternative or treated as equal citizens.!

Your now making excuses for any Black guy to go out and commit a violent street crime. Same goes for the argument about these black criminal's being poor.... So are many whites and Asians, but how many of them in proportion go out and commit VOILENT street crime, as a matter of their daily daily life??
