I'm still curious, why?
Where in the UK was segregation practiced?
Where in the fabric of UK society did social inequalities arise?
There obviously 'HAS' to be a reason.

In the United States after 150 years of equal rights nothing has changed. Why?

Man, aren't you clueless as to what the term "equal rights" means or how long it has been practiced in the states.!

That only meant that the blacks were no longer slaves. It did not mean that they had equal rights. In fact, far from it. The blacks didn't have equal rights for another 100 years or so.!

Correct, the Equal Rights Movement was from 1955-1968. My bad.

That's alright, Cap. The problem with some people is, they only think equal rights only means that one can vote, but there are many aspects to what equal rights mean, such as equality to jobs, education, freedom of expression and movement, equal protection under the law, equality in the court system and Justice and so on. America is yet not perfect, but they have come a long way since 1776.!

My wifes nan used to run across the road to touch a blackmans hair for luck........I have heard that my wifes parents moved from the area they lived in because just one black family moved in....How else were these people to react :?

And how about TV shows like "Till Death Us Do Part", where it was a very racist show towards blacks and immigrants by calling them "wogs", so as you said Zan, what did the whites expect in return. People of colour only in the last 20 years or so have been able to start getting ahead in life in the white man's world. They were denied most of their basic rights for centuries. People steal and commit crimes because they do/did not have another alternative or treated as equal citizens.!

At last we agree

Except for the "Till death do us part" and the other program in the same vein "Love thy neighbor". Those programs were made to ridicule the racists but the normal white population were too thick to understand....

Kikapu,

That's just a load of unadulterated Crap!!!

Your now making excuses for any Black guy to go out and commit a violent street crime. Same goes for the argument about these black criminal's being poor.... So are many whites and Asians, but how many of them in proportion go out and commit VOILENT street crime, as a matter of their daily daily life??

So Think again about the Crap you come out with above, ....You couldn't be more wrong if you tried!!!!
