This morning, the Yacht Giorgio Athens, which was outside Lebanese regional waters facing Tabarja, issued a rescue call. The yacht had on its board 9 Cypriot citizens suffering from medical conditions due to seasickness. Immediately after receiving the call, a Lebanese Navy patrol, consisting of the boats “Kalamoun” and “Sannine”, intervened and escorted the mentioned yacht to Jounieh military Naval Base. Furthermore, two additional boats were towed due to technical problems. The sick individuals received medical healthcare and they are now in good shape and the technical difficulties are being addressed.
