Simon I agree fully, Cyprus has air support agreement with France now as well as Greece and I read that the French aircraft carrier will made annual stops in Cyprus.

What would the Americans do when they're not invading directly. they buddy up to the enemies of the regime they want to topple or destabilize.
In this case..If the States was Cyprus they would be indirectly arming and assisting the Kurds. The PKK. Strengthening their identity and sense of nationalism, boosting their culture through indirect means, creating internal conflict....
20 million Kurds are cause for concern.
Once they've fertilized and created the ideal scenarios and weakened the country they move in for the kill, either by instilling their own puppet government or by invasion...
