Bananiot, you obviously have ZERO military experience and knowledge so why do you insist on commenting on these matters?

You seem to think that just because Turkey has say 2,000 tanks in her inventory she can and will bring all 2,000 to Cyprus to fight against you but it doesn’t work like that because out of the 2,000 there are 300 odd grounded waiting for parts, 600 odd that are 30 year old technology, and 1,000 odd that are needed to stay in Turkey to guard her many borders, and so forth.

That’s how it is in real life and the same goes for fighter jets and every other piece of hardware a country possesses, and the more you have the greater the maintenance headache!

The other major issue is GETTING THEM to Cyprus which forms part of what is called “logistics” and it’s not easy, and if your enemy does a good job they can ensure you never get anything on the ground forcing you to fight with ever-dwindling hardware!

Why dont yuu give it a go GR? you GCs are all talk and no action.

It would be a dream come true for me VP (it's personal) but our successive useless governments don’t seem to understand political and/or military strategies…

That we died fighting… it’s what to tell them if we don’t fight that worries me!

Our ancestors handed over to us an island so we therefore have no right to pass on a territory!

Are you a soldier? you seem has if you have been processed by them, if you are blown to piece you will have no people to tell them anything, cant you see the madness in what you are saying we dont want anyone else to die, this would be the real tragedy, sorry our ancestors hand us an island but we lost everything ho but we fought hard. Snap out of it at least now you have the GC state you have always dreamed off without the TCs you despise so much.

You can't just look at numbers, it' so simple minded to say we have this or that. You don't know military then. The Turks can't send their entire arsenal to Cyprus. Just sending men, tanks and aircraft is not the only issue. You have to send all the support staff and supplies this would take mounts even longer if the supply lines were compromised. The TAF has to keep forces in strategic locations to deal with other threats. It's not just going to send it's entire military force to Cyprus. The CNG on the other hand exesit

This is where I believe Greece's support is crucial. Cyprus lacks an air force and navy. Greek frigates, submarines and fighter jets would be required to disrupt Turkish supply lines and movements. Then it becomes a straight battle on the island. In 1974 Turkey had complete air and naval supremacy, and they still managed to nearly fuck it up. We can't afford to allow them such advantages in the future if another battle ever did ensue.

You are not a soldier you don't know shit. You tell me where you served viewpoint. I served in Afghanistan, Iraq, and and I Kosovo. I have had the bullets flying past my head, I was even hit once. I know the power of the TAF every well but I do know that they would never be able to take Cyprus it create a mushroom effect of hostilities towards Turkey. It would lead to the military trying to take over the government and destabilization of Turkey. That is not just my opinion, it is NATOs as well
