Anorthosis kick Trabzonspor's butt!

Football, Basketball, F1 etc.

Are there any players to watch out for in the Famagusta side. We know all about the quality of Ketsebia and Kinkladze; are there any other exciting players in your squad?

I strongly believe that Anorthosis is more of a team rather than good players if you know what i mean.

It is remarkable how in both games with Trabzonspor all player played double of their standard level.I think that this is more based on the fact that they were facing a Turkish team but that shouldnt look like any easy opponent for Rangers because dont forget that Anorthosis has been close to entering Champions League Group stage a punch of times and this is their best chance ever. They will really fight this game and i will go a step further and say that with the momentum that Anorthosis has right now after disqualifying the Trabzonspor only with a miracle they will be disqualified by Rangers.

I will be really looking forward for the next week's game, and may the best qualify my friend.

Indeed, I'm looking forward to an excellent (and difficult) tie.

So has Kyriakos left Rangers then?

Although I head they were going for Tavlarides and Dellas...

Rangers have some weird fixation with Greek centrebacks now.

Kyrgiakos is out, he is rumoured to be heading to Schalke.

Dellas is also out, Rangers were interested but then the whole thing just cooled off.

Dunno about Tavlarides.

But it makes sense for them to be after these guys... They're big, strong CBs, a perfect match for the British physical playing style.
Plus, what the Scots are likely to know of the top Greek defenders is what they saw in last year's Euro (where Dellas was absolutely brilliant), and Kyrgiakos had some great appearances while he played for Rangers. So I guess that would explain it...?

Kyrgiakos was a very valuable player for us during his 6-month spell in Glasgow. Many Rangers fans were very dissapointed to see him leave.

There were issues over agents and how the deal would be structured. On top of that, Rangers and Panathanikos fell out over the fee, with each club accusing the other of shifting the goalposts, so to speak.

Today we have signed the centre-back Rodriguez from Monaco, which should give us a bit more stability at the back since he is a former team mate of our other centre-back, Fan-fan.
