Why was it OK for the Turks to invade the territories inhabited by the Greeks and force on us their rule for centuries, but was not OK for the Greeks to be liberated from foreign rule and have their one unified free Greek State?

If we could be subjects under Ottoman and British rule against our will, then why couldn't we (you included) be equal citizens of a state which we democratically choose to belong? You think that just because the Ottomans created Muslim minorities in the territories they occupied that those territories lost their right for freedom? If that was the case then Colonialism would never be over.

Why should some imperialists in Ankara or London be able to determine where Cyprus should belong and not the Cypriot people in a democratic way?

This is why the UN resolution for Decolonization defined "free association with an independent State, integration into an independent State, or independence as the three legitimate options of full self-government. "

So who is at blame here?
