My story begins in 1974, as a 17-year old. I am from a small town in the northern part of Cyprus, called Ayios Amvrosios, where most of the invasion took place. It is difficult to explain my feelings at the time – I couldn’t believe that this was happening. I expected that the international community would not allow a massive country like Turkey to invade a country like Cyprus with 600,000 people, but it was happening before my own eyes.

There were two invasions, on July 20 and August 14. The second invasion saw most of the inhabitants of my town – including me – board whatever vehicles were available and flee to save our lives. We went across the mountain to the sanctuary. I have seen devastation, raging fires, and bombardment from sea, air and land. It was a horrific experience for a youngster like myself.

I will never forget my final journey away from Ayios Ambvosios. We were on a truck; there were maybe 50 people – mainly women and children. I can remember the driver driving around the town once more while we all screamed ‘what are you doing?’ He replied that he wanted all of us to see the town one last time. It was a very moving experience. That final departure from the place of my most carefree and loving times was when I first felt a sense of deep injustice, and that I must do something for as long as I can. And this is what I have been doing for most of the rest of my life.

But this story started in 1974.......What happened before that Pappa. Why have you started reading me the book from the middle and not the beginning.

Well said Zan... Now what's the difference between what the 13 y.o did and what 45 y.o Bill did... in it's essential same...

What another pair of 13-year olds posting! CF is becoming a children's playground with these two around!... here's a blind pair of children who can't see the bit in bold... cos it doesn't suit them...and their childish ways.

As far as this child's parents go, with their CarpetShagging ways, the story starts sometime in the 1990's or 2000's.

They wouldn't give an ant's piss about CY if they hadn't "bought" stolen land off the back of a lorry at about that time...

...and the bottom of the nursery class, two of the CF infants, take objection of a reminder to the parents of how very silly they have been, and that they should set a better example to their children.

Grow up children.

What example will you set your children Bill. How about telling them of your success in the "RoC", profiting from the misery of the TC people. You are profiting from the destruction of the Zurich agreement by the Makarios regime and loving it. Roll about in it mate....It will serve to remind you of the stench of treachery.

Here you go Zan... got a new CF for you to go on ... and on ... and on and on about Big Mak ...

Whatever Bill... please follow the link and fill in his questionnaire in order to be a part of the solution not the problem...

What if his parents bought a TC land in the North? Or noman's land that was common land of Cypriots(state land)...

http://www.northcyprusfreepress.com/201 ... s-problem/

My dear Insan, do hear that the identity of the child's father is known to a couple of members (see above)... and further hear it isn't state land, it isn't expensive tissy land, and further understand it's allegedly cheap off-the-back of a lorry land in the finest tradition of CarpetBuggery.

Dear Bill, i've many times reiterated that particularly, the unresolved and current messy situation of the property and land ownership issue is the fault of our so-called leaderships...

Since 1974, they've met with each other supposedly as representatives of their people for hundreds of times... had they talked about the solution of this issue, restitution, exchange of land/property, compensation and a proper procedure for appropriation of the lands and properties which belongs to individuals; there wouldn't have been any what you call as "carpetbaggers" in North but the parents of David would have been living in a properly expropriated GC property no matter how much it would have costed them or others who chosen to settle down to North...

Can you comprehend the essential of the issue? If you wish to blame someone about the ongoing messy situation regarding the sale of GC properties please blame our so-called, self-interested, illiterate, incompetent and nincompoop leaderships...

Still bickering like old farts... maybe even into the next 36 years. Give it up.

Just a little light banter between (sort of) CYs mate/matess.

Nothing serious, we've tried to move on from throwing each-others' bodies down wells, despite what the Division Benefitting CarpetMolesters might like to see.

Isn't that right Insan and Zan?
