No point looking over the Atlantic or at the non-EU Swiss model.....

What are you saying, Omer, that only EU know what True Democracy is.?? :?

No bullik, its about democracy demos= people, cratia= government. Its a technical question of logistics. The system we adopt must be able to function within the mechanism of EU decision-making of which are a part. Swiss Confederacy / American federalism won;t work.

It is 15000 Pontian who DID NOT get citizenship, they along with thousands of other EU citizens have RESIDENCE permits.

The rules of citizenship applied WORLDWIDE are based on the patrial, ie blood connection, principle or on territorial. Britain uses the patrial principle as does Cyprus. The USA applies the territorial principle, anyone borne on US soil gets US nationality. Decrying either one as Nazi is bullshit and you know it.

Naturalisation for foreigners in most countries involves an oath of allegiance or other overt or impicit act of allegiance to the nation granting nationality. Are you implying that those 180 000 "naturalised" settlers owe any allegiance to Cyprus?

Tell us and make us laugh.

They owe alligence to the TRNC not the "RoC" of which they have no connect nor do they care about. As for the Pontians you are lieing they have become citizens after serving the obligatory term of residency, why dont we agree to send back all those you have granted citizenship to in response to sending back just an many Turkish settlers.

Are you calling me a Chicken or a Cock.?

I'm sorry Omer, but I don't know why you think a True Federation USA systle will not in Cyprus when all the Annan Plan supporters thought a USA style Confederation of the 1860's would work just fine, including the TCs and Turkey. According to VP, also the UN, the EU and the International community all rubber stamped the AP of 2004.! If a failed Confederation attempt of the 1860?s did not work in the USA but True Federation has ever since, surely it can be good enough for Cyprus and the EU.

As we speak, the Belgians separatist are looking ways to break up the country of Belgium. Have we not learned our lessons yet in what would happen when one community is looking to secede from the union. True Federation keeps the doors of secession pretty much closed when one side want Taksim, and one side still wants Taksim in Cyprus.!
