In fact, and I'm sorry if this offends anybody, but alot of Eastern Bloc and ex Soviet Union ladies specifically target certain high income countries with high standards of living and are encouraged by their families! to leave their villages and towns and find husbands who are financially secure so that they can live a better life.
Looks, level of education and compatibility are not deemed as important as most people think to these women. A secure future is top priority and they'll put up with a lot of bullsh** to achieve it.

Deniz, you and I being from a TC background, or even those from Turkish background from Turkey, the family will never allow their young daughter/sister to marry a much older man, as the case would have been with Nadir. It just wouldn't happen if he was just an ordinary old guy who was 40+ years of her senior. But the fact that he is wealthy, I have a feeling the girls family may have even pushed/convinced her into getting married to him, in the hopes that they too will benefit financially. It really had nothing to do with their daughters happiness at all. She was a "commodity" to them. She was more than likely told, "he is an old man and that soon he will be dead and you (us) will end up with all that money". A very Gypsy mentality. I have no doubt this young girl was encouraged/pushed by her family to go through with this union. This young girl had her own dreams for her own relationship, and I don't think it was to get in bed with an old wrinkled tired spongy body like Nadir's. Ultimately, Nur, at 21 years old at the time, got herself "bought". It had nothing to do with love.!

Kostas fully understands the situation and although she expresses feelings of love and devotion , I think he listened to me when I gave the same advice , as he said to me , John I'm not out to start a family I just want a gorgeous woman to wake up to for as long as it is possible. I said exactly the same thing to him that she could find a much younger lover , and his reply was , kick her out get another !!!
