While I was in Cyprus I met an old friend and a relative that I had not seen for 27 years , he emigrated to America in 1983 but visits Cyprus every year . His wife passed away a couple of years ago , cancer , so we do have something in common. I visited him at his hotel and had much to say. He confided in me and asked for my opinion , you see he met this girl in Cyprus in a Biraria last year and continued exchanging texts phone calls etc. The old boy is in love !! He showed me some of the texts that he exchanged with her in order to make me see that she indeed is in love with him.
Kostas I said - not his real name - the girl is after a secure future both for her but also for a daughter she has back home in Belarus , although Kostas is an attractive guy I couldn't help feeling that the girl was confusing love with security. He asked what I thought , I played it down a bit by saying that both he and she , although only 28 , were adults and should decide for themselves. Kostas really wanted an encouraging comment I did not offer one , now in London Im thinking perhaps I was wrong in not offering a word of encouragement , what the heck the guy is single , fit , attractive and reasonable well off , why not . Saw the girl , an absolute bombshell ,

Obviously, if he likes to be taken advantage of good luck to him, for her, he is her ticket out of her hell hole. He could chose anyone of a million brides off the internet who are all looking for the same thing.

If he is as you say, why not find someone thats suits him and wants him for him and not just his money.

Anyway, whatever, it's his business .......... lucky for some a???

Miltiade mou, I don’t know if this friends is you or indeed your friends but no matter what the age difference is important when you are thinking getting married again, maybe not for the first period but later on...but in my opinion an age gap like the one you describe it matters all the time. As for a simple relationship, where both side just having fun or share few moment together, age doesn’t matter at all.

I personally know 2 men here in Cyprus, one is English Cypriot actually, about 56 years old married with a 27 years old Russian woman and they are having a baby soon as well. The other one is 60 years old Cypriot married with a Ukrainian woman 28 years old. They both look happy and in love with their husbands but I am not that close with them anyway. A small note that can give you the answer to your question is that both men are rich and the ladies buy whatever they want, new houses, furniture, clothes etc.

A relationship between a mature man and a young woman may have an excitement for both side. For men that they can have a young girl in their bed which will lift their ego and self esteem, made them feel wanted in that age, and have company now that their wife passed away. As for the girls the fact that they can have whatever they want, that men treat them with more mature way, the fact that men make them feel like women and not just “bar” girls and finally and the opportunity for more secure future out of the bars and night clubs.
