Thanks Shalay for saying ''sources should respect them by including not only the number of their own people lost but also that of the other people''

we need more sensible ones like u in this forum to Analise Cyprus problem and find solution in our country. Yes there is a always other side of the coin too. there is no end for blame ! Blaming others does not help at all. We have agenda in front of us called BBF solution in Cyprus. We must work on it and just playing for a time . we must find kind of solution that we can not have the dark days of the past ! we must forced our leaderships to find workable solution for both side of the Cyprus....

well come to forum Shalay we need more TC's in this forum to express their free ideas.

The so called "BBF" is nothing more than something which the Cypriot people accepted to negotiate after being BLACKMAILED by the Turkish army keeping 1/3rd of Cyprus as hostage and violating the human rights of 100s of thousands of people.

"BBF", especially in the way that the Turks and TCs demand it, would legalize ethnic cleansing, segregate people along ethnic lines, impose racist discriminations among the Cypriot citizens (on the expense of the majority) and would definitely lead to more problems and hate. "BBF" has absolutely nothing to do the system that normal multi-ethnic democratic countries like Australia have.

So your "agenda" of today is nothing more than the same old agenda that you had in the past: Divide Cyprus and discriminate against us. With such an agenda the only thing you can gain is more hate against you, and rightly so.

I too welcome such a voice of reason , such an intelligent Cypriot , I hope that soon our people will realize that horid things were carried out by both extremists .
There are as Halil says two sides to a coin , it takes a brave man to accept the truth or indeed a brave woman as in the case of Sevgul Uludag and I thank a dear friend for introducing me to her book "Oysters with the missing pearls."

shalay, I don't know how well you researched the Cyprus problem, and that could be shown only with a discussion of the details. You are right that both sides had a lot of casualties (even though GCs had more) and no side is completely innocent, but a more important question to research is who wanted the conflict between the Cypriot people to exist in the first place. Whose interests and aims were served by such a conflict? In your next research you should also investigate this aspect.

You should also examine how is the one sided propaganda (that both sides are guilty of) being used and what aim it has. While the aim of the Turkish side is to excuse yet more human and democratic violations of the Cypriot people in the present and future, no such aim exists among Greek side, which while it might diminish the suffering of TCs in the past, it definitely does not attempt to use the past as an excuse for the violation of the human and democratic rights of TCs in the future.

I will repeat that what happened in the past is not the issue for us. For example we do not go about hating the Latin minority today because the Latins once occupied and oppressed the Cypriot people. We live peacefully with the Latin Cypriot minority, as equal Cypriot citizens and absolutely no hate exists between the two groups because of events of the past.

Well madam, you have failed your assignment, because if you did research as you say, you wouldn't be asking such a stupid question. Further, I notice you like to mention Enosis, but you failed to mention the Takism and the criminal TMT and the actions of your fellow TC traitors (talk about being one sided!). You need to go back and do it again. Please don't try to insult our intelligence with your wishy washy, I am new and naive to this problem.

FYI, Halil is the biggest shit stirrer on here and his Baycrap propoganda knows no bounds, yet he likes to play the peace man, my back side. Stay here long enough, you will soon get to know how much your fellow countryment hate us.

Shalay, the hatred you talk about is a characteristic of nationalists, Greek and Turkish Cypriots. There is another breed of Cypriots, who do not hate each other. We are great friends and strive to bring peace and prosperity to this island that has been wrecked by the mindless nationalist murderers of both sides.

If you insist, you can check with me. I know more about the Cypriot population than you do.
Do you remember Nasreddin hoca's story of the 'cat who ate the liver'?

Besides, it is a fool who believes that ALL Turkish Cypriots are ALL descendant of the Ottomans who settled in Cyprus after 1571.
You have been reading the CF for a long enough times to see that is true. This comes from other Turkish Cypriots as well. From my grandmothers side, perhaps Turkic, but from my grandfathers side, I would not bet on it. That still makes me a Turkish Cypriot and you a foreigner. End of.
