Anorthosis Trabzonspor 2nd leg

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

20,000 ‘TRNC’ flags to greet Anorthosis

TWENTY thousand ‘TRNC’ flags could greet Anorthosis as they take to the pitch in tomorrow night’s European Champions League second leg match against Trabzonspor in Turkey. Anorthosis won the first round in Nicosia last Tuesday 3-1, much to the humiliation of Trabzonspor who were widely tipped as favourites.

The 20,000 flags are being supplied by the north’s ‘foreign ministry’ at the request of Trabzonspor’s management, according to reports in the Turkish and Turkish Cypriot press, and will be sent to Turkey aboard a non-scheduled flight also being used to transport Turkish Cypriot and Turkish Trabzonspor fans to the match.

Trabzonspor’s management have vowed to avenge their team against Anorthosis, whose fans decked out Nicosia’s GSP stadium with Greek flags for last Tuesday’s match. Anorthosis players and their entourage are also expected to face stringent security restrictions similar to those experienced by Trabzonspor in Cyprus.

This is going to be one of those wierd games which has left the idea of sports and completely taken the undertones of politics.

Supporters of Trabzonspor attacked the bus carrying the players of Anorthosis and almost hit Antonis Georgalides, the team's goalkeeper. Also members of the Grey Wolves gathered outside the team's hotel and ironically put flowers at the entrance "in memory of Anorthosis" whatever that means. The Turkish police managed to prevent further troubles.
Things seem to get pretty harsh in Turkey as the game approaches. I hope nothing bad happens to any of the GC players or fans.

Humiliating reception of Anorthosis in Trapezounta.

The team players as well as some 100 fans were greeted in a hostile and humiliating way.

They were subjected to a top to bottom search, all of their baggage’s were opened and searched and then to a further check by search dogs.

All were subjected to a body search and were even forced to remove their shoes. Yiannakis Matsis a member of the European Parliament was even forced to remove his socks.

Tens of journalists in the meantime were covering this process.

From newspaper Phileleptheros.

It is a big shame to respond to the hospitality in Cyprus in this manner!!!

In many airports passengers are asked to take their shoes off but socks, its the first time I hear of this. Hope old Yiannakis had washed his feet.

It's a shame that they try to stage everything to happen in front of cameras like big immature boys.

Shame to try and use sport as propaganda.

I think the police did all that and made the EU parliament member take off his socks because of the anti-EU feeling of the Turkish public. What I said is already starting to happen...

Of course there is gonna b anti-EU feeling when u Turks act like the animals that u r.

And u wanna know why u wont b let into the EU when u act in this manner?

Whats next?

U have tried 2 humiliate Anorthosis at the airport, tried 2 intimidate the team on route 2 their hotel and at their hotel.

Wot if Anorthosis win the tie?

Do they get out of the country alive?

I hope they spank ur sorry arses and knock u outta the competition.

Ur team was treated with respect when they came 2 Cyprus.

U treat Anorthosis worse then animals in ur country.

That's the difference between u and us.

I hope the whole of Cyprus gets behind Anorthosis and they arrive back in Cyprus victorious.

All u have done, once more, is show that u r a pathetic country that has to revert to bully tactics when u don't get ur own way.
