Hehehhehe no sympathy wanted. Cyprus won!

But here actions speak, turkish police could have done better to protect the guest team.

Νο TCs on the team. But (by the way), a TC girl who's a friend of mine was telling me today that she would be supporting Anorthosis, because she is from Famagusta. I thought it was a piece of good news.

On a similar theme I met a TC (a friend of Banaiot btw - introduced to me by him when we met again recently) who also professed to be supporting the Cypriot team and not the Turkish one. Unfortunately he also said that he would have gone to the game in Cyprus to support the Cypriot team in person but was put of from doing so because he knew that the Greek flags would be surrounding him :(

So something positive and something less so there - but still a sign of hope I guess.

PS I am NOT trying to restart the 'flags' discussion we have already had - just retelling the story as I expereinced and in relation to SJ's post.

What a pathetic lack of sportmanship and hospitality. Absolutely disgraceful.

I'd say that this sort of thing should be expected, in a sense. I mean, it's not a total surprise that the two communities are not ready for unification just yet; hence the need for transitional periods in the implementation of a possible solution.

I think it's an absolutely positive sign that should be acknowledged as a plus for the TC community. I can't imagine a GC supporting a TC team from a mixed village, if that team played a Greek team. Apparently, more TCs than GCs have a 'Cypriot' conscience, which is obviously what we should be aiming at - developing such a conscience, that is; not having more such TCs than GCs...
