Yeah, it is at least called a dozen of different names... I only knew babutsa and Frenk inciri until i recently googled it... what's the English translation of KALH OREXI? I thought GCs call it as babutsa too..

Pabuç = babutsa = Papoutsa= slipper=the shape of the stem. Perhaps its Cypriot.

We finally agree on such a prickly discussion. Pity we cant ALL agree on the Cyprus problem with such ease and without abuse

We have a cactus climate in Cyprus so the national plant of Cyprus should be a Cactus or papotsositzia and not a pine . People should be encouraged also to plant cactus at their homes as they need minimum water ( given the water shortage on the island) minimum effort and minimum cost. I like cactus there are cactus who can grow a beautiful flower on top.
