Britain: Friend or Foe?

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Hypothetically, Turkey's geographical position could lie in East Asia and the CyProb would be of no consequence.

All who agree that Britain is a FOE of Cyprus and proclaim themselves to be 'true native Cypriots' and proclaim their love of Cyprus but who CHOOSE and PREFER to live in BRITAIN (land of their FOES) should immediately 'vote with their feet' and leave Britain and return to their beloved motherland (Cyprus or Greece will do) and tell the British why they did so. Otherwise surely they are just 'working with the enemy'?

That'll show 'em.

Until the SBAs are packed up and all the colonialists leave Cyprus, then as many GCs as possible should retain voting rights in GB ...

Apparently, Cameron the Chameleon was jingoistically trying to provoke the French and Germans and completely forgot (the little airhead  ) Turkey's outrageous human rights record and the fact that most Tory voters would veto Turkish entry into the EU anyway.

Does any country, including Cyprus, "need" Britain?
What does Britain "offer"?
What did Britain did for Cyprus lately (or ever)?
Why is Britain still in Cyprus?
What's in it for us?
How much longer is Britain to stay in Cyprus?
What the F**k do they want from us?

Questions like these come to mind with no answers...

You better face the realities... the Brits were, are & will be "colonialists". Their attitude is the same for the past 300 years... they see us as ants since they consider themselves sooooooo superior!

Anyone who supports them (Brit wannabes) must answer the questions listed above & convince me otherwise.

Just because some Cypriots lived in Britain does not give the right to the Brits to do whatever they want in Cyprus!

I say we kick them out of Cyprus ASAP.

"should immediately 'vote with their feet' and leave Britain "

Some of us have done just that. In 35 years went back once, for a week.

But for those that stay, it is a fair exchange for 80 years of colonial rule.

Some of us had no say in retreating to the UK after the Turkish bombardments. The fact we GCs can make a home anywhere is proof human beings aspire to the same things worldwide. The only prickles are the thorns Turkey keeps poking into Cyprus, every decade or so. I have no complaints from the RoC which has opened its arms without my having to prove myself; and the UK is happy to carry on latching on to whatever I have to offer ...

Cameron's stance is borne of a long term strategy of cooperation between the UK and USA to destroy the EU -- the only real competitor to the Yankee dollar.

Turkey will be the fuse to the destruction of the EU and that is the ONLY reason the UK is promoting this possibility!

Think of this scenario:

There is settlement. BBF is established and working OK. Then suddenly Britain decides that it no longer needs the Dhekelia base and announces it will leave.

What happens to the base territory? What happens to the BBF functioning?

Now you understand why all means of fomenting trouble must be taken from the hands of the British?

Who encouraged Makarios to pursue the 13 points? The British High Commissioner who was later declared to have been mentally ill by his own boss, the British government.

Wake up!
