If you want 'Turkish' - go to Turkey - NOT Cyprus!

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

There is no "border" to be closed.

The north part of Cyprus is territory of Republic of Cyprus which is illegally occupied by Turkish troops. RoC could close access to this territory if it wanted. There are many good reasons to do so and many good reasons not to.

But I agree with apc here. We first have to deal with those Cypriot assholes that go to "casinos" and other illegal venues in the occupied part of Cyprus, and then deal with any foreigners. A foreigner might have the excuse that he doesn't have good knowledge of the situation in Cyprus. A Cypriot has no such excuse.

Personally I have not crossed to the occupied territory and I do not intent to do so until it is liberated liberated.

And RoC is in the EU and EU citizens have freedom of movement throughout the EU, including the TRNC, which is also in the EU.

It's a war-zone and the RoC should stop access -- Extend the Buffer zone -- make all the north patrollable by UN and demonstrate to the world how it is militarised by Turkey -- Turkey, ready to shoot and kill EU citizens who happen to be Greek!

I can see our Oracle flag in hand all alone at Lokmaci ahead of 'The Greek Cypriot Womans Temperance Movement against Gambling.' She would be lost among the stampede which would destroy her.

Good luck with your solitary battle against the evil Gamblers.

Deniz, you are far too tolerant of the extremists and fascists who use the forum, or like me, do you think they are insane and not to be taken seriously.

Is that a question or a statement Jerry? :?

I must admit to be wondrous/fascinated by the working of some brains.

Lately I see no difference between the average GC opinion and the extremist fascist lobby. At moments they all jump on the same bandwagon. Like the J-Lo and Gaza incidents; which is sad.

It's not merely about evil "gamblers"; although, you would try and trivialize the problem. It's about the development of a culture amongst the Brits, resident or touring, who use the illegally occupied north as a convenient stopover for a "Turkey trip" without the inconvenience of leaving the safety net of an EU country (RoC).

Resident Brits who work in the RoC should not be allowed to go and work in the north under the same auspices as they do in the RoC-EU. Tourists booking flights to the RoC should not be allowed into this war zone. In the end, if anything goes wrong, who will they blame? The RoC-EU!

You’ll have to enlighten us one day as to what exactly the British DO take seriously besides consuming alcohol, drugs, and shoving objects up their crevices which seems to be their favorite pastime, because it sure isn’t international law or Human Rights… is it now?

Why don't you discuss it with David Cameron?

Postby cymart » Wed Jul 28, 2010 3:05 pm

He was in Ankara yesterday but I don't recall him talking about a war zone in Cyprus? However,he did say that the problem here cannot just be shelved and must be solved by the end of this year under a bizonal federation as accepted by all sides in this dispute(except the fanatics and rejectionists on both sides!).I will leave it to the others on this forum to decide which approach is the most constructive?

Dear Oracle

Evrika/Eureka. I have the perfect solution.

You have all other vices in the Ro. pen up a few dozen Casinos.

It will have a double purpose too. The Turkish owners miggo back to whence they came from and you will cater for one of te baser instincts of the Ctpriot male. More revenue for the RoC.
