What's the matter? Has your doppelgänger also stolen your voice? :D

My 'doppelgänger' is my 'sister'. We share. We do not steal.

Now, I'm getting on a bit and have a desire to return to my Cypriot roots. Has anybody had similar inter-cultural relationship problems? Are Cypriots just incompatible with those from Western / Northern Europe? Are we better suited to Mediterranean people? Would you marry a Non-Cypriot?

Already very happily married and have been for quite some years so at the present time and immediate future my answer would have to be no.
If in another lifetime I met a Cypriot man then the answer could be yes, why not if we loved each other?

You say your cultures are very different - is it the maybe the religion aspect? I cannot see it being the family issue as most Irish families are very similar to the Cypriots in that respect. Do you have the same outlook on life/similar hobbies etc or are you really poles apart? I do hope you work it out and have a long and prosperous marriage.

surely even if two ppl love each other the religion shouldn't matter because if your trully in love then your accepting that your partner would be attending either mass at a church, service at a mosque a meditation session or ritual at the buddhist temple unless they are some extremist and their practices interfere with the relationship ;) my two bob worth on this subject matter.
