Maybe the ones that travel are mostly skinny, maybe the airline does not accept the fat arsed ones.

Sorry, I have to disagree with you Nikita. Yes, the young girls have fabulous figures but it appears that once out of their teens the temptation of Zorba's, Sweet Nest and all the fast food chains now present on island take their toll and their posteriors are definitely on the increase!

True Bubbles mou but not actually after their teens. I will say after their thirties. However some of the teenager suffer from anorexia.

Another anecdotal bit of "evidence". Last year we had a reunion of sorts for people from our (occupied) village. We had people coming from all parts of Greece where they set up after 1974, and some from Cyprus. These were people in their 40s and over. Not a fat arse to be seen among them. Now in any other national context any collection of 100 randomly collected people would include some obese persons. Not in this instance. I wonder if it was statistically or genetically odd or both. Are we freaks?

From what I know of wimin, the fat ones stay at home from shame / or to make themselves even fatter.

On a serious note, the local diet must be good too.

Yia Lena mou; good to see you posting again. On holiday gori mou?
When I first came to Cyprus I honestly thought that every Cypriot (female) was anorexic. They were all soooooooooooooo painfully thin - all you wanted to do was feed them a decent meal. It must be the Western influence that has changed their 'position' so to speak. (All that fast food)
I adapted to the Cypriot diet and found myself losing weight. :) Alas, I then also found Cypriot wine, something I never drank in the past and the rest is history as they say..................... :(

I bet you are talking about the Cypriot diet that we used to have and not the one we follow these days, right?
