If you are struggling to get a job consider a working trip down under if you have one of these qualifications. Australia is a good place to get some experience. Come and get some experience by practicing on bogans.(the Australian version of Chavs)

Looking at the lists it must mean that Aussies can't do anything or spend all their time in the pub!

Well, there is a 40,000 skilled and unskilled labour shortage in WA alone per year. This shortage is the biggest risk to the Australian economy.

The shortage is mainly in the mining sector. The industry offers many fly in fly out positions on equal time packages. Many people actually live in the UK, Canada or US and fly to Australia, business class as it is International Long Haul, all accommodation, food, and health care provided, for a 2 month shift and then are flown back for 2 months rec. The salary packages are out of this world, even for a non skilled worker.

There is a Pilot Shortage as well. We are recruiting overseas, and I was actually on the selection panel for 6 months. I had singled out 3 Cy Air pilots who wanted to come out and work for us, but the DoD turned down the applications and then ruled that we shall only recruit UK, South African, NZ, and Canadian pilots only. US Pilots were disqualified, even a Maltese Pilot from Air Malta was turned away.

So now we mainly pinch our Pilots from South African Airlines, and EasyJet at present, with some that want to escape the harsh canadian chill as well. Australian citizens are naturally preferred! So we get some of our former Ansett expats back from Asiana, Dragon Air and such like.

Relax Germaine Greer. A lovely middle aged lady got the job. I am the only Cypriot male who actually thinks it should be compulsory to appoint at least one women to the board of each public listed Company. Who is going to make the coffees?
