Proposals on Famagusta

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Postby Nikitas » Fri Jul 23, 2010 11:35 pm

sometimes forum discussions remind me of driving on those narrow roads of the 50s when drivers would stick their heads out of the window and shout at each other "pese banketto pezevenghi". Amazing ritual which ended with both cars falling into the "banketto" since it was inevitable.

So whats the outcome, do we trade Maraş for direct trade/flights and joint EU superivision of all the island ports?

The Eastern Mediterranean University wasn't there before 1974 was it?

With it's 15,000+ students from 68 different countries. Should be able to find a few casual workers among that lot.

Or at least provide more accommodation for them once it's rebuilt.

"of course it is "

Then why do you let a mainland Turk tell you what to do with it and when?

Try something with Famagusta and you will open a new game, one you really do not want to play.

Wouldn't worry about them trying anything on with Varosi... VP and his Turkish friends don't have the pollocks for that sort of thing.... and they couldn't afford the reconstruction costs anyay....

They are not telling us, we are agreeing with them and they with us, ıts called unity but what would you guys know its something we never had with you people.

Why should we try anything where we will lose by being left out in the cold?

Unity, or ENOSIS in Greek, is what we did NOT pursue with Greece, in fact we violently resisted. But you managed to get it to the hilt with Turkey and on top of that you accuse us of wanting to "gift the island to Greece".
