Proposals on Famagusta

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Postby humanist » Wed Jul 21, 2010 9:51 pm

Nikitas, my point was that in every society there are those who view others a lower class citizens, this social construct will always exist. As it exists in the 'trnc' between TC's who see themselves a step above the settlers. Pakistanis i Britain are seen of lower class the white Brits, the blacks in the Sates are seen as 2nd class to the whites there and the list goes on. BBF will ensure that all Cyprus citizens are equal however what goes on in the ground is different. I don't think in Cyprus today though people will target the TC's for anything. People are too busy trying to make a living. I think the 1200 people crossing to the free area each day is an indication that even the TC's themselves the are okay with GC's.

I dunno VP.... A few of us have repeated our Pres X's PROPOSALS for something that would benefit all, and you're throwing all the toys out of the pram with the most spurious of reasons to reject these PROPOSALS.

What benefits? the port already operates. without direct flights this proposition is a non-starter.

What are you going to do with direct flights when you haven't even got an airline? Do you suppose they’d be useful to Turkish bird migrations? Image

"A whole city for a supervised port hardly tempting"

A whole RUINED city that needs to be rebuilt and from the rebuilding of which all Cypriots stand to gain more than ever in their lives. So let us keep some balance in this issue.
