How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

I am also very Proud to hold one of those maroon Cypriot passports. Yeaeeee ;)

Why should Maraş be handed back? what incentives are there?

Everyone in the EU has one of those passports not that special anymore.

Another filthy comment by a gloating TC who isn't from Famagusta. Do Famagusta refugees respond in the same manner....lets see how many forumers respond to this type of post.

Why?

Postby cymart » Thu Jul 29, 2010 6:22 pm

Because when Cyprus became independent in 1960 Greek and Turkish were designated the official languages and therefore are shown on documents such as passports etc.You will also notice that signs for government buildings etc. also display both languages......eradicating this could be seen as either an acceptance of partition or that we do not welcome the Turkish Cypriots participation on this side any longer!
As for the CYBC programmes in Turkish these were maintained for the same reasons and have been increased somewhat as part of the current governments policy of reconciliation, which is obviously a good thing.Even just after the 1974 war, when feelings here were obviously running very high on both sides, there were Turkish Cypriots who used to watch these programmes for their presentation of unbiased news and scenes of the villages they left behind in the south but were not allowed to visit by their own regime until 2003.The man in charge of Turkish Cypriot programmes then was a very decent guy called Iacovos Tenedios who died some years ago with other Turkish Cypriots who lived on this side such as the daughter of Ihsan Ali,the doctor from Paphos etc.

They could have started the process of return after 2004. Papadopulous said vote NO to the return of the refugees now, the EU help the GCs achieve their maximalist goals.
What are you telling the Famagusta refugees about that - Malapala!

Well the chickens have come home to roost then. By your logic, it is clear the turks want only partition since they destroyed everything hellenic and changed every Greek name to Turkish.

Tell me why the F they are at the negotiating table. It can only be to cement this partition. And we have the likes of you and Banana telling us we should soften and understand them, angourka!

we are just too soft, in fact we deserve everything we get, may they come over and F us even more, it would serve us right.

Such wankers these politicians.

My comment was a dig at VP and reflects the words he uses when he's been insulted (see another thread). He gets a bit touchy. I thought Famagusta refugees might feel the same way about his flippant comments about their (renamed) town.

As for your comments about the spilt milk of 2004 that you're still crying over a full six years after the event, as I understand, not all refugees, and certainly nowhere near enough, were to be given the right to 'start the process' (whatever that would have meant in actuality) of return.

I think you'll find that's part of what the problem was; which is why the vast majority of free Cypriots exercised their right to reject the Annan proposal.

So, I'd tell Famagusta refugees what I'll tell you: that's democracy.

Simple answer: Your illegal pirate state pretends to represent Turks as well.
