The Turkish-TC intervention on July 20th, 1974 was inevitable under then the circumstances... It's the day TCs with the help of Turkish army inevitably moved to a safer area of Cyprus and started building a new future for itself...
The consequences were very bitter for especially those who lost their loved ones, had to left their properties, homes and belongings behind and move/emigrate somewhere else with tears in their eyes...
GCs and Greeks also had got good benefits as a consequence of July 20th Turkish-TC intervention:
1- The dictatorship of Junta regime ended up and democracy restored...
2- The oppression of coupists and their supporters on GC left ended up, the elected president of GCs returned to his office...
3- The fear of a new wave of inter-communal violance and armed struggle disappeared forever for GCs as well...
I'd wish all these tragedies had never happened and the people of Cyprus had lived in peace by accepting the local, regional and global realities that were mainly based on the politcal equality of two communities; a vitally important political principle for TCs...
I express my sympathies for all who suffered and still been suffering because of the decades lasted inter-communal violence/armed struggle and still ongoing Cyprus problem...
IMO, this should be the way we TCs celebrate the aniversary of 20th of July, 1974...
