Orams Lose Again

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Orams Lose Again

Postby bill cobbett » Fri Jul 16, 2010 3:06 am

Everyone's favourite couple, the Orams, have lost their appeal at the ECHR where they had claimed that the Nicosia Court hadn't acted fairly and impartially.

Well the ECHR didn't think much of their arguments and threw out the appeal.

End of.

Warning to CarpetMolesters and others, the dismissal of the appeal, one brought by "users" of land in Tnucland should set alarm bells ringing again in the Occupied North.

To pick up on the last sentence in the CYM report...

“I find the court approach to be very encouraging,” Cantounas said.

Given Mr C is encouraged, the remainder of the year could be a very interesting time for the CarpetShaggers.

"ECHR challenges process of EU courts? No likely."

It happens every day. Read the ECHR case law and you will see dozens of instances. One important one is the upsetting of property compulsory purchase orders, the other is environmental policies, both things vital to EU policy and which the ECHR has no trouble at all upsetting.

What stops you from seeing that expelling people from their land and then sellling it to foreigners is totally wrong?

I stand corrected then, I just thought it logical to uphold the process, not got a clue about the areas you described.

Selling someone else's land to someone else (local or foreign) is wrong, I concur with you there.

Do you believe that usurping the consitution was wrong instead of trying to find a way to make it work?

Do you believe that what the GCs and TCs did to foreigners (and locals) by selling a property which has an undisclosed lean to a bank on it was wrong?

I'd say lots of wrongs out there, the way the dialogue is progressing chances are the wrongs will be compounded rather than resolved.
