Bananiot any compromised solution that prohibits GC's from accessing their country fully and participating in a fair just and equal voting system is not better than the current situation. The situation in Cyprus is bad enough and does not need to be more complicated a simple democratic system is the only way forward. All that crap about voting for a TC President in a rotating system as was put forward and I was never clear on it anyway was convuluded.

All Cypriots need to live freely, equally and democratically. The only compromise I think that needs to be made is that of moving TC's around especially in cases where the GC refugees are not going to be moving back to their homes because they have made bigger and better ones. And I have lots of relatives who will not move back to their home in their villages of origin but do want their land back not necessarily the house.

The USA is a nation of lawyers. If they wanted the guy held on espionage charges they should have transmitted the proper Indictment to the Cyprios authorities. In fact the charges the Cypriots received were for the laundering of a small amount of money. Nothing was in the charges re spying.

If Cyprus had held him then the result would have been what exactly? That he would have been released directly for repatration to Russia. You two should read the story in the various news services and the BBC from the first to the last. ALL THE ACCUSED were swapped and ALL CHARGES dropped.

And there is no comparison between the spy case and the two arrested in Famagusta. You are both trying to excuse a petty and vindictive act based on purely racist considerations.
