I was only referring to the very last comment of your post. The rest of your post, I was only happy to respond to, and I did.! :D

I understand why you believe there could be a mix-up but that point was well noted.

Forget what's in the so called census. Ever hear the term, "garbage in, garbage out" when compiling and dispensing information.??

do the Catalans of Spain say "we are Spaniards first"

Words do have meanings.!

No other country or state, legal or illegal, as far as I know makes direct claim as to who they are as people in the formation of the countries name, except the illegal " trnc state", who has claimed to be "Turkish state" and not "Turkish Cypriot state", but isn't what your leaders in the north has also claimed recently, that you are in fact "Turks of Cyprus" and not Turkish Cypriots at all. Are you not at least a bit embarrassed in what your leaders have classed you as and you show no objections at all, but in fact, you still praise Denktash and I'm sure now, your new leader, Eroglu.??

Acikgoz wrote:you know where I am going.

Yeah, nowhere to be exact. Stop trying to make excuses and trying to squirm your way out. Accept that TCs are a minority in the north and the settlers along with all the other illegal foreigners are the majority. Stop trying to be a "smart aleck" by coming up with excuses. You are not as "Açikgöz" as you think you are.!

Acikgoz wrote:That was some serious chat you gave with what could be described as a hang-up about immigrants. The ones that are TRNC citizens are now TCs and that's that. Those that are not citizens yet face difficult challenges to get their citizenship.

You are further making a fool of yourself. If what you say is true that all "citizens" of the "trnc" are now TCs, then why can't they cross into the RoC and claim their EU passports as any other Turkish Cypriots who are citizens by birth rights of the RoC can. The only TCs who are eligible to claim their EU passports from the RoC but refuse to do so, are people like VP who have British citizenship, that's all. Unless you want to tell me that the "settler TCs" are happy with the passports issues by the "trnc" and that those passports are equal to the RoC issued passports.??

Acikgoz wrote:On this point I have no issues with Denktas.

Well, you should, but how can you, when you have been blinded by the likes of Denktash for the last 36 years.! You are just one more victim inflicted on to you by your leaders fascist ideology. It really isn't your fault.!

Acikgoz wrote:I am sure if we were called the "We declare the all Greeks are great Cypriot Republic of Turkish ethnicity" we still wouldn't be allowed to post our avatar on this site and we would still be persecuted.

Pointless argument that has no meaning, hence deserves no meaningful response.

1. Sure thing, I don't disagree, but I also don't listen to the likes of Afrika or Serdar Denktas to tell me what I see with my own eyes. Happy to be proven wrong, but would like that from a source that actually does the work rather than pluck it from the air or to make a political point.

2. As a Turkish Cypriot who sees themselves belonging to Cyprus with Turkish ethicity relative to language and religion I really don't see the argument. Perhaps you are more astute at analysing the difference and its implication though I believe it's lost on us more simple folk.
Ahh, one that I do know is Turks and Caicos named after some plant that looks like a fez - nice beaches.
On the pointless comment, I believe it has a point. If my name was Turkmen, Thomas or Theo, if I did not believe in RoC domination it would not change the way I am perceived or treated.

3. In time the TC culture will be merged with Turkish mainland culture. Not completely but in part. Given we are embargoed the easiest route for culture is via Turkey. Guess that's our Crescent and Star to bear.

4. Hmm, how much have you noticed us to listen to the RoC? Not really much respect for its opinions, less so by the day.

5. Denktas does not blind us. Gone are the days of tending sheep. We are connected and capable of making our own decisions.
