just want to confirm that this is the area mentioned, i.e where the ostritich farm is

but more importantly is there any connection in northern cyprus to this malounda near paphos. i.e a region where the turkish cypriots from this region moved to (or more specifically if anyone knows of the family neavzit, that moved from this region)

Paulat, the ostrich farm, in your link is in Malounda, Nicosia, as per my first map. Ohhhh...... I give up. :)

Me too.

From a 1960 Ethnic map Malounda had 154 Greek Cypriots and 1 Aremenian. The nearby village of Aredhiou shows 265 Greek Cypriots and 95 Turkish Cypriots.

This map was prepared by the Department of Lands and Surveys, Cyprus. May 1975, Planning Bureau, Planning Commission Nicosia.

The full title reads: CYPRUS :Distribution of population by ethnic group 1960 & Position of the Invading Turkish Forces.

Sorry to bring up a dead thread, but part of my family's from Malunda, Baf (it shows up as Malounta, Paphos on some maps and is abandoned), so I thought I'd add some feedback.

It was a TC village until the homes were destroyed in an earthquake in 1953. The inhabitants were moved up to Ayyanni (Aydın/Ag. Ioannis) where they stayed until 1974 or 1975. They then fled and were settled in Zodya (Bostancı) and Omorfo (Güzelyurt/Morphou).
