JLo thinks again

How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

Postby Me Ed » Thu Jul 15, 2010 10:58 pm

Here I am, trying to save my fellow Cypriots from the embarrasment caused by Turkey and all I get from you is weird energy.

I have some more suggestions:

You might want to cover up the flag of shame temporarily if she visits, now you don't want her thinking that the Turks are gloating about their abuses.

... and the carpetbaggers, you might want to suggest they keep a very low profile.

There you go, 5 great suggestions to save yourselves any embarassment.

If I think of more, I'll post them as I'm helpful like that.

Acik am not sure why your attacking ED ... he is merely pointing out some facts that are well known in the political international arena. the fact that you have not gotten recognition since 1981 or whenever Denktas declared the 'trnc' indiates to a non TC / Turk that the international community recognises the violation of human rights of those Cypriots kicked out and kept out of their homes since Turkeys invasion in 1974 because of their ethnic background and perhaps the language the speak. Turkey through various UN resolutions has been found guilty of violating international law and human rights. Turkey through recent ECHR has been found guilty of violating the rights of refugees by denying them access to their properties and wealth. I think Lopez has seen through this and decided against supporting a regime that violates human rights. If she looked it up on the map she probably found there there is no such Country as 'trnc'. And the hotel owners best watch out what land is used to build the hotel to avoid contra law suite from a GC refugee whose land may have been used to build the hotel on.

I will also urge you to stay away from personally abusing individuals through name calling. Because the minute you do that your credibility goes down

Not at all Cratos got a lot of publicity and paid nothing in fact they even now have the opportunity to sue Jlo. I think they have gotten what they want even you now know where Cratos Premium is , the biggest and most prestigious hotel on the whole island.

humanist, Ed's form of communication is attacking and derogatory. I ask him to consider what he is saying but he just comes out with the same. Regarding attacks, Mr Drayton has left as a result, GR continues to bless us with his vulgarities.

As for your points, UN resolutions do exist but their basis is political. Or on this point world powers are just but when they are perceived to be against GCs then they are not - note the reasons put forward for the Junta, all their fault not yours.
The ECHR has found Turkey guilty of violations, we are still waiting on the first cases at the ECHR of TCs that are suing RoC. Cannot wait to see that outcome.

J-Lo, the real implication was the lobbying that we saw to keep her away underlined GC extremists will stop at nothing to keep up the oppression. What J-Lo evaluates as the decision has really no bearing on right or wrong, unless public opinion is what will determine the outcome of the Cyprus problem. It has resolved nothing for 47 years, it will not for another 47 years.

Viewpoint you are so naive and still have to work out how the world works. She doesn't give a shit about Cyprus, that's true – but no one needed to give her any money to stay away. If you believe that you're a moron. (But you know that about yourself anyway, I won't embarrass you by posting the link again).

However, it is about money. Lopez risked being sued for trespass, were she to go and perform in the north. She also risked being fined for entering Cyprus through an illegal port of entry. The direct cost wouldn't perhaps amount to much, but the damage to her international standing would be measured in millions of dollars.

They paid 3 million dollars in advance for someone who's not going to show up now.

They have no opportunity to sue her whatsoever. It's bollocks. They will lose more money and do the pseudo-Cratos even more damage if they even try.

What they wanted was an international star to give their hotel, and by extension the regime in the north, an air of credibility and legitimacy, on the 36th anniversary of the Turkish invasion of the island. They won't be getting that.
