It does seem very strange that any country would subsidise another country at a level to keep their wages at twice what they are in the country handing out the subsidy.

Maybe one of the considerations was that it would make it more attractive for mainland Turks to move to the 'TRNC' if they could earn more money there?

Did you take 'into consideration that the cost of living is twice as high as Turkeys and the majority of goods we use are from Turkey so what they give us actually goes back to them in bigger amounts.

TRNC has always had a hight standard of living then Turkey well before the AP and the opening of the Green lin, with the possible exceptions of some of the better areas if Istanbul.

USA or Turkey can bribe whom ever they want. That's not the point here. The point is those who accept such bribes and payments like whores should also know that there is no such thing as free lunch.
