The ETKO chimney in Limassol. Part of Cyprus' history. They said it would be left intact and the 'state of the art' new apartment development there (right next to the oldest and worst apartment blocks in Limassol) would be built 'around it'.

It had gone when I last visited Lim.

Shame they didn't knock down the huge old blocks A to G right next door to it as well!

I was told some years ago that Cypriots don't like 'old things' they prefer new and modern.

I suppose that's why Limassol looks the way it does.
