Very sound advice GR.... I give our macs a wipe every now and again and have got one of those little blower/vacuum things to keep the keyboard clean.

I do look after my computer. It is used to type article texts, send emails to very few addresses, and web browsing. The only site where the problem has arisen has been this one, with constant resetting which started two days ago.

Yesterday I scanned my computer with Norton and the two programmes suggested by GR. The problem persists.

I am guessing that the updates from Microsoft have induced some kind of problem. There are very few other programmes on the machine and none installed recently.

The other new thing I note which I did not have in the past is "googiespell" and also I see lots of HTML code phrases popping up on the page.

The situation sucks. And it is obvious that it is something silly causing the problem.

You may have to delete some of the updates through regedit.

Choose “Do a system scan and save a logfile”

Now post the contents of that logfile here…

What info does this logfile give that is useful.

I wanted to do this, but don't want to mess up my PC with a shed load of downloads.
