Turkish Cypriot leader Dervis Eroglu has claimed that United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon has favourably received his suggestion for a three party conference in New York in September.
Eroglu told a Turkish news agency after talks with Ban Ki-Moon in New York that Moon had accepted a suggestion that he gets personally involved in efforts to solve the Cyprus problem if a solution were not reached in the ongoing negoations by September.
Eroglu said he suggested to Ban Ki-Moon calling a conference on Cyprus.
He complained that the Turkish occupied part of Cyprus, which he called a state, being not recognised by any other country except Turkey, finds if difficult to get international support.
