The only thing that irritates me on Cyprus roads is the few fools that indicate right on a roundabout! :?

Thats the first one that occured to me in the morning. Blocked me from going across the roundabout and had to do another spin.

Figgy I'm here and we are friends. Kinda busy with fixing up the house for my brothers wedding in a week time.

Is that not correct if you are exiting the roundabout at the third exit?

I fvollowed someone yesterday who went the wrong way round a roundabout, to their credit, it was a quicker option......

Defensive driving. That's the only way to survive on this island. Just assume every car out there is being driven by a small monkey jumping up and down on the seat screeching its head off. Any mistake it can make, it *will* make it. It will accelerate hard for no reason, it will decelerate hard for no reason, it will not use signals, it will not use mirrors, it will change lanes at will, it can not grasp the consequences of its actions and it will hurt you given half a chance. This is Cyprus. Driving defensively means you slow down when you're approaching traffic lights even if it's green for you (this happened yesterday in Limassol: 17 year old ran red lights killing pensioner in taxi http://www.cyprus-mail.com/cyprus/natio ... s/20100702), you definately do not follow the car in front of you too closely, he/she could turn into the next left/right side-road without indicating. On avenues don't drive right alongside another car, it could change lane without looking over or you could be in its blind spot, staggered formation is safest. If approaching traffic lights don't even attempt to accelerate if you see its turning orange, chances are the car from the opposite direction wanting to turn right *will* turn right (you're supposed to stop anyway) etc, etc.. You've really got to use your head and stay alert in Cyprus north and south.

People's rudeness and arrogance here come across in their driving skills. There is no common courtesy on the roads. People are just ME, ME, ME. We dont let it get to us anymore, because all our time would be wasted telling people to feck off. And we are not letting other people change our happy dispostion.

The drivers that do it for me are the ones that veer of into the road cutting us off, and then they slow right down and travel 30kms/h. Whats the fecking point. Let us pass you morons, and then you can turn into the road and do what you fecking want. Arseholes.

Glad I got that off my chest. To be continued with more venom

Which reminds me, we nearly hit the back of a scooter yesterday. The idiot decided to abruptly turn without indicating. We slammed the brakes on and the guy on the scooter starting yelling at us. Any guesses at what he shouted at us. "MALAKA. DON'T YOU KNOW I LIVE HERE." Gotta love it. Classic I tell you. classic.
