Tracey Amin's Art Gifted To Nation

Postby bill cobbett » Thu Jul 01, 2010 7:52 pm

Excellent news for lovers of provocative modern art.

Charles Saatchi is gifting his collection of Modern Art to the GB nation.

As you will all know, amongst the collection is the tissy artist Tracey Amin's bedroom...

How lovely. I thought of entering for a prize myself one year when I saw the state my kids had left the table in after a little celebration.

Gosh you have such artistic kids. Such abstract expressionism. Think can see what they're trying to say. You must be very proud.

Too kind. Really, he shouldn't trouble himself. Seriously, please don't!

Magnificent. I find this work menacing yet playful because of the way the disjunctive perturbation of the negative space contextualises the eloquence of the underlying metaphor. With regard to the issue of content, the spatial relationships brings within the realm of discourse the distinctive formal juxtapositions. Moreover the reductive quality of the purity of line visually and conceptually activates the eloquence of the work.

Thank you Bill. And Mala - I have choked here reading that. It is so funny I am going to leave it on screen and read it to one of the offenders (err I mean brilliant young artists) when we get back from the airport later!

I am being a little unfair to them. They were rather young to expect them to tidy up after themselves. At the time I took this photo they were only 14, 25 and 27.
