THE possibility of Ryanair flights to Cyprus came one step closer following a recent meeting between the Minister of Commerce, CTO officials and representatives of the company.

If the two sides can agree, two European airports for flights to and from Cyprus will be selected as a first phase. By summer 2011, another destination will be added.

At the meeting representatives of the airline said that during 2009, 57 million tourists travelled with the airline, while it maintains 44 bases in 26 European countries, and its fleet is eco-friendly
