You can not compare EasyJet with CA. Like comparing a Lemon to an Orange!

Paphitis , I'm a regular flyer to Cyprus this year alone 4 times plus 2 in July making 6 flights in all so far. £120 per flight average saving makes a tidy sum. I agree that CA is the best but I cant afford the best that flies out of Heathrow which is inconvenient to me. Besides I'm a working ...boy !!
Easyjet is pretty fair , you pay for drinks etc but nowhere near £125 !!

The 2 airlines are offer a completely different service. CA is a full service business airline, whilst EasyJet is a back to basics no thrills budget service!

You can not compare CA to EasyJet!

Don't be silly , both offer the exact same route , one with free drinks and a personal monitor and the other without !! For the wealthy or for the once a year traveller CA is indeed a better choice but for me Easyjet is fine ! I'm also booked for July 16th and Im now looking for August 20th to be at my granddaughters first birthday on August 25th , then its October my daughters birthday , then is November my other granddaughters birthday then of course is Christmas,. I work 6 days a week 10 hours a day I earn my money the hard way , do I want to throw it away paying exorbitantly high prices ? Of course not.
I'm just trying to book for August 20th to August 30th , morning flights and afternoon departure . CA £474.00 , Easyjet £336.00 dif £138.00 , now lets see how many average cost bottles of wine , each at say £6.00 have I saved , I make it on just the one flight 23 BOTTLES including the other two total number of ..wine bottles a staggering 118 , enough to keep me ...plastered for at least a month or two !!!

What you are saying is that you are happy to be travelling with a budget airline such as EasyJet, because the airfares are cheaper most of the time (not always)! There is nothing wrong with that!

But you can not say that CA is far too expensive because of the comparison you offer with EasyJet! They are 2 completely airlines offering a different service. EasyJet, have fewer cabin crew, have a tighter seat pitch, do not offer food and drink, cruise at a lower Mach Number (to save fuel), restrict your baggage weights and will severely fine you when checking excess baggage, and have faster turnarounds to save air bridge costs.

Therefore, you can appreciate the fact that CA has an entirely different cost structure than EasyJet who run a very lean back to basics service. As a result, CA is able to charge far more and get away with it, because they have better Cabin Service, more Flight Attendants, more leg room, have a more generous baggage allowance, and offer free food and drink. Also, prices are governed by supply and demand. The demand for CA tickets by Corporate travellers and the more fussy infrequent flyers will dictate CA ticket prices, particularly at short notice.

Comparing CA to EasyJet is like comparing QANTAS to EuroCypria or a BMW to a Hyundai!

Arrived yesterday afternoon and let everyone know that the seat space on EasyJet is more than enough for a guy like me standing in or sitting down at 6 feet 9" !!!!!!. Plenty of leg room , all aircraft are practically new , the cabin crew are more than enough and the wine at 4 quid a bottle of 180ml is fair enough. I couldn't care lees if the flight height is 30 thousand feet or 40 provided it stays up !!
Paphitis , you are wrong mate , CA provide free drinks and a monitor , nothing else !
Enough of that , let me just say that touching down at Paphos is such an exhilarating experience that somehow regardless how many times I experience the feeling , a bit like wine really , I always want another !!
Love the place , paradise right here on earth , cant wait for the next time.
I was met at the airport by son in law and Mr broken nose Yiannis , the injury begun to heal but the little ficker keeps sucking his thump while his index finger is ..scratching the top of his nose where the injury is.
Not that anyone cares but I met this ( Kafenes take note ) ...Russian on the plane , staying in Paphos she said , large private villa , come and have a drink with me she asked , sorry I replied but I only have 3 days and I'm spending with family , besides I'm a ..good boy....

Off to do a spot of fishing , or rather watch my old mates fishing on the Limassol pier , I have ...pen knives to give away , seems I cant get rid of them since Pampos ( RIP) left us.

Paphitis,

One other area where the budget airlines are making a big savings, which most of us are unwilling to acknowledge, is in their employees pay and benefits over the major airlines, in which many major airlines in order to compete, have also severely slashed their employees pay and benefits, either through direct union concessions, or through phony bankruptcy reorganisation. Overall, by flying budget airlines, we have all contributed to the demise of decent pay and benefits of those in the aviation industry. I can tell you, most pilots stay in the business because their love of flying and not because they are making a very good living at it. Personally speaking, unless the aviation industry becomes regulated again, it stands to only attract mediocre personnel in the future, where safety may be compromised. Overall, in comparison to everything else in travelling, flying is relatively cheaper, when one looks at the overall expense in running an airliner.!

Someone told me that the CA pilots are paid 120,000 euros per month !! If this is so then one can see why CA is so expensive to fly with.
To suggest that it is in a different class from budget airlines is rather flimsy in my opinion as a regular flyer. I dont fly because I enjoy the thrill of being up in the air for 4 plus hours , only do so to get to the other side !!

I must admit to enjoy flying CA when I can get a good price, I am looking for one near Christmas but it looks as if EJ are the winners, as for food on board free or not I frankly have NEVER had a decent meal on a plane apart from Cathay Pacific to Hong kong which had a running buffet at the rear of the plane and you just went and got something when you wanted.

Most planes short haul are now dumping films to passengers, in place they give you tv programmes and soon Wii,s and Ipads for approx 10 euros, IF you want a film. It does,nt bother me as I always read chat and sleep but OH is banning any shorthaul flights as he loves watching a film.

So far Monarch and Thomas Cook have dropped them to Cyprus as well.

Whatever happened to enjoying your flight and being looked after  I detest it now, its just a means to an end, I am looking for a flight to Sao Paulo airport in Brazil at the moment, the difference in fares is staggering  Btw not from Cyprus as that means longer journey and stops, no fly to Gatwick and fly on from there as so far its considerably cheaper, I have looked at Athens and it was more expensive to fly from there but I,ll keep looking, patience and time means lower prices I have found.

Enjoy your stay Milti hope the grandsons nose repairs quickly, bless.
