After all, a fork is a fork is a fork!

Nonsense !!
A flight to Cyprus on a jet economy class is pretty standard on all planes. 4 hours it takes , take out the freebies and there is hardly much difference. On average I fly to Cyprus , where else , 7-9 times a year and I do care how much I spend on a flight. You may find it rather odd to know that the reason I can afford to dine at Nobu lets say or Galvin at Windows is because I appreciate the finer things in life and not sitting on a bloody aircraft chair for four hours having paid well over the odds !!
So my dearest next time you are sitting on an overpriced CA seat think of me sitting on a reasonable priced Easyjet seat !!!
If you are in Cyprus I would very much like to ....poke you in the eye !!!
I will be staying at the Coral Bay hotel for two days 19th to 21st July on my next trip , do join me for a spot of lunch with hubby !!

Miltiades, I know you are getting old but there are certain things which take a specified time and getting them done faster is not the sole purpose. So, admit that 4 hours is the given time and you can either choose to enjoy the ride in comfort (CA) or put up with lousy leg-room and no free nibbles with EasyJet!

Oracle, stop avoiding the subject; accept Milti's invite then you can witness his generosity first hand.

And Milti..........pssssst, dont tell anyone! let me know if the invite is accepted. I too can be there.

Cyprus Airways is by far the better airline serving Cyprus the problem for me is that it flies in and out of Heathrow which is rather inconvinient since Gatwick is only a 20 minute drive and of course prices are so much cheaper. Booked with Easyjet for £194.00 , CA on the other hand are asking for similar flight time etc £320.00 some 65% more or £126.00 or ...21 bottles of table wine more.
I also booked two more flights for my self and my brother flying out on July 16th to attend a family wedding , total cost with Easyjet including my flight tomorrow £670 , CA would have cost for the three tickets £1260.00
not peanuts in anyones pocket , £590.00 to be exact which means over 700 euros or about ... 100 bottles of wine , that is a good 70 days supply of the nectar !!
I usually acquait costs of things by wine bottles , full ones of course , each bottle normally about £6.00 delivered to my door.

Talking about Euros , Im pleased to see our STG gaining ground against the Euro , good for Cyprus's tourist industry and spot on my forecast of sometime back !! "Still on the up , not long before Stg hits 1.20 !! "

You can not compare EasyJet with CA. Like comparing a Lemon to an Orange!

Paphitis , I'm a regular flyer to Cyprus this year alone 4 times plus 2 in July making 6 flights in all so far. £120 per flight average saving makes a tidy sum. I agree that CA is the best but I cant afford the best that flies out of Heathrow which is inconvenient to me. Besides I'm a working ...boy !!
Easyjet is pretty fair , you pay for drinks etc but nowhere near £125 !!

The 2 airlines are offer a completely different service. CA is a full service business airline, whilst EasyJet is a back to basics no thrills budget service!

You can not compare CA to EasyJet!

Don't be silly , both offer the exact same route , one with free drinks and a personal monitor and the other without !! For the wealthy or for the once a year traveller CA is indeed a better choice but for me Easyjet is fine ! I'm also booked for July 16th and Im now looking for August 20th to be at my granddaughters first birthday on August 25th , then its October my daughters birthday , then is November my other granddaughters birthday then of course is Christmas,. I work 6 days a week 10 hours a day I earn my money the hard way , do I want to throw it away paying exorbitantly high prices ? Of course not.
I'm just trying to book for August 20th to August 30th , morning flights and afternoon departure . CA £474.00 , Easyjet £336.00 dif £138.00 , now lets see how many average cost bottles of wine , each at say £6.00 have I saved , I make it on just the one flight 23 BOTTLES including the other two total number of ..wine bottles a staggering 118 , enough to keep me ...plastered for at least a month or two !!!

What you are saying is that you are happy to be travelling with a budget airline such as EasyJet, because the airfares are cheaper most of the time (not always)! There is nothing wrong with that!

But you can not say that CA is far too expensive because of the comparison you offer with EasyJet! They are 2 completely airlines offering a different service. EasyJet, have fewer cabin crew, have a tighter seat pitch, do not offer food and drink, cruise at a lower Mach Number (to save fuel), restrict your baggage weights and will severely fine you when checking excess baggage, and have faster turnarounds to save air bridge costs.

Therefore, you can appreciate the fact that CA has an entirely different cost structure than EasyJet who run a very lean back to basics service. As a result, CA is able to charge far more and get away with it, because they have better Cabin Service, more Flight Attendants, more leg room, have a more generous baggage allowance, and offer free food and drink. Also, prices are governed by supply and demand. The demand for CA tickets by Corporate travellers and the more fussy infrequent flyers will dictate CA ticket prices, particularly at short notice.

Comparing CA to EasyJet is like comparing QANTAS to EuroCypria or a BMW to a Hyundai!
