Question about Casinos

Postby Gasman » Wed Jun 30, 2010 12:42 am

Serious question. If it is not totally without the realms of feasability that Cyprus should be 'reunited' in the not too distant future.

What will happen about all the Casinos in the North? Some of the most spectacular hotels over there are Casino Hotels. The Kaya Artemis, this one JLo is s'posed to be opening and the huge one on Kyrenia Harbour. But there are lots more.

Will they have to close (Casinos not being allowed by the RoC) or what?

Isn’t all that ENTIRELY dependant on all the fine print included in such a “union”?

Now had you asked… “What’s to happen with all the casinos and illegal hotels upon the liberation of Cyprus?” …then the answer would’ve been a very straightforward… “Blow them to smithereens!”

Is answer question?

OK! Keep your hats on! Just looking at all those huge casino hotels - it made me wonder.

Would any of you LIKE the RoC to allow Casinos on the island?

And why the hell don't they anyway? Is it that it might put the ten thousand scruffy old lotto ticket sellers out of business if they did?

Alot of the "scruffy old lotto " people cannot find work because of circumstances ...............better to have them work than claim benefits ...........in the UK they would be mugged or claiming benefits.....

Just one state-controlled like that of Malta.

ID to get in, and no more than one visit p/month for locals.

We can't have fools ruining their families...

who cares about casinos in the occupied areas when i have 7 casinos within 500m from my house. There are more patronous and xorkatous than i expected in Cyprus anyway... but i dont care as long as they let me sleep at night.

That sounds very 'nanny state'.

No more than one visit per month? I bet the GCs who use the casinos in the North go there more than once a month.

Why no restriction on all the tacky 'gentlemens' clubs' here if they are concerned with family values?

I'm guessing it's a GO Church thing that prevents casinos here. Just off to look it up.

*is there anything your govt does or doesn't do that you disapprove of? Because it doesn't sound like there is! They walk on water and can do no wrong.

Found this:

http://www.cyprus-mail.com/letters/why-not-just-open-some-real-casinos/20100509

So they do allow 'online casino gambling' then? Something that is known to be VERY addictive.
