What I fail to understand is, how on earth dp you release a Spy on bail.

The Russian Embassy is not going to miss €20,000 and travel documents withheld - not a problem!

It IS funny Svetlana! And a lot of the reports about it in the world press today sound VERY tongue in cheek!

Why do you think he was let out on bail. As Lana said 20K is not much for the Russian Embassy to miss and as for travel documents too easy.

This raises the question of why he was given bail in the first place, given that most times this is not the case due to the ease of flight to the North?

He will probably be caught soon given that the north will hand him over to turkey as soon as he is caught and then he will be extradited. Unless he is in the russian consulate which puts him in a tricky position as he will never be able to leave the country then.

You couldn't make this up......generally I have much respect for the Judiciary in Cyprus but when they blunder (unprosecuted Police brutality etc.) , they blunder big!
