If it was to have been the 24th then I pull retract the comment of understanding the sensitivities of her performance. Do you think the spin-doctors got the better of me - I think so ...

She always was going to perform on her birthday, NOT the 20th. This was just a case of the GCs adding 2+2 and making 5 (i.e. making a meal out of it!).

If you bothered to read the link in the first post you would see that the official opening is on 20th July. Why do you think the Hotel decided to choose that particular day VW?

You are confusing the official opening date with the date she was going to perform - not the same dates and nothing to do with each other.

I'm quite capable of reading the link I posted myself, VW. I do not dispute that she was going to perform on 24th.
Now answer you can my question, why do you think the hotel decided to officially open on 20th July?

Simples. July 20th is a v.important day in TRNC. It marks the beginning of their liberation. If the shoe was on the other foot, are you telling me the GCs wouldn't celebrate it just as much?
If they wanted to tie the two together, why didn't they ask her to perform on the opening night?
