VP, why don't you get your friend, Zel, to perform there instead. It will give her career such a lift by being shown all over the world. She will become a superstar overnight. Teach those GCs for not selecting her to sing at the last two Eurovision "no talent" song contest.! She won't even demand a HUMMER to pick her up from the airport. She'll be happy to take the bus.!
Let me just say what a public relations disaster this whole JLo affair has been to the "trnc". If $3 Million US dollars can't persuade people to swallow their pride, integrity and self consciousness to come to the north to perform by world famous figures because of the political situation in the north, I don't know what will. If there weren't anyone left not knowing the political situation in Cyprus before, they will know it now, which has been broadcasted all over the world and the Internet, which does not look good for the north, no matter how much the north may want to spin this PR disaster on the negative attention it has brought to the north. Hence the anger displayed by those in the north over her cancellation and the negative attention it has brought, which was not the attention they would have liked.!
As for lawsuits, JLo can easily counter sue the hotel for misrepresentation of details concerning the north as well as in trying to inflict damage to her reputation and character by making her an accomplice in taking part in Human Rights violations which she claims to champion such rights. If her legal team did not have a leg to stand on, they would not have cancelled, and in fact, they may even sue the hotel to recover the £3 million for the reasons I gave above, if in fact they don't have the money already in advance.
Kikapu, in the UK you cannot enforce an illegal contract, I imagine it's the same in the US. Since the contract was between persons who "owned" an hotel in a "State" that is not recognised and built on stolen land I find it difficult to believe that any Court would find against Lopez in fact they would probably not even allow the action in the first place.
Just my opinion of course, for what it's worth.
Hi Jerry,
As I've said, JLo stands a good chance sueing the hotel for the $3 million for damages, regardless what the hotel may want to do, specially, if it was an illegal contract.!
This was a total PR disaster for the "trnc". First they couldn't get the shitty football team like Luton Town to play a friendly in the north without the permission of the RoC, and now, even a $3 Million Dollars can't buy world personality to appear for a show.! So much for the "we are a independent country" bravado hailed by the fools here on the forum regarding the north.!
