And to celebrate his "return", the Wine Festival is back! :D

Wine festival to return to Cyprus
28 Jun 2010

Wine enthusiasts planning a summer holiday in Cyprus this year will have the opportunity to attend an event that is right up their street.

The 2010 Commandaria Festival will take place in Limassol on the Mediterranean island's south coast from 26 July to 1 August.

Commandaria is an amber-coloured dessert wine that represents an ancient style of production that has been documented as far back as 800 BC.

Thought to be the world's oldest wine still in production, the beverage is made from sun-dried grapes of the Xynisteri and Mavro varieties.

The Commandaria Festival will celebrate the drink by hosting a number of special events inviting visitors to combine it with local delicacies while enjoying traditional Greek and Cypriot music and dancing.

Holidaymakers can reach Limassol by taking flights to Paphos and Larnaca and either hiring a car or travelling by bus to get to the south coast.

The city boasts a range of attractions, including the ancient sites of Amathus and Kourion.

Opodo cheap flights, hotels and car hire - let the journey begin!
