Yes Deniz. He was needed in Northern Cyprus to slap the Brits into shape and educate them all (even the TCs) about the history of Cyprus! So they let him escape.

Just been listening to a bit of a racist rant down at the pool! An Iranian guy (with Scottish wife - they live in the UK but own a lot of property in Cyprus and Greece).

He said the Greeks 'hate Cypriots' because they can't stand 'the way they speak Greek' lol!

You never hear many moaning about the Iranians being in Cyprus. Both here in Larnaca and in Limassol when I lived there, there were plenty of them - and they all usually owned lots of property and businesses. My daughter spent a summer working for one in his business in Limassol. He had contracts with the German Navy to supply them with stuff at Limassol port.

Perhaps this will all change when Cyprus joins at the hip with Israel?
