Is it me, or are we in the grip of a Romanian crime wave ?

Seems that 75% of the crimes reported in the paper are committed by Romanians.

A few weeks ago the police chief of Cyprus invited his Romanian counterpart to the island to discuss 'crime prevention and cooperation' between the two countries. MaybeI am wrong but i do not recall the police chief of any other European state coming here recently.

Is it Roma, Gypsies doing this, or what ?

Last week i got a connecting flight from Russia through Bucharest, and believe me most of the people on that plane coming into Cyprus did not look nice. Dirty, unwashed rough looking types, some of them with the appearance of vagrants.

I know some of you will accuse me of being a racist, so fire away.

I'm interested to hear if it is just me who made the observation, or anyone else.

I once heard that Police is not allowed to post info and keep statistics of origin of each detained for various crimes and offences. But your percentage is most likely to be true...

When we had our cafe operating a couple of years ago, 1 hour after we closed for the night we had a break in. A Romanian dude came on a stolen bike to steal our 50" Plasma TV (~60kg)... i must remind you that the cafe was 20 meters opposite a Police station. BY the time he managed to take it of the stand, he had 2 officers waiting for him outside... the idiot dropped it, smashed it to pieces and surrendered

Is not the fact that the guy was totally retarded... (or in this case a walking vegetable), its the fact that i missed the show when a dude on a small motorbike drives around on Saturday night on a very busy road with a 50" plasma tv somehow tied on his back. I could make 10 times more that TVs value by posting video online with Google Ads running...
