Could it be that this “Hellenic” is a figment of your implanted imagination?

If you can’t put your finger on it then it can’t be real can it?

Do your research and come back when you're ready. The same goes for Nikitas. When you’re ready start a thread so that you can explain it to me.

Ta-ta for now...

Sure!

The onus is on YOU to disprove the obvious. You can't go against the grain of history and expect to win, although I am sure you will give it a go!

Bye bye for now!

The evidence is not everywhere round me where I live! I live on the edge of the old Turkish town!

And, in tourist areas, it looks more 'Chav Brit' than Hellenic (whatever that's supposed to mean).

This, for instance, on the main seafront road, doesn't look very Hellenic to me:

Hellenic? Cemetery at the end of my road.

How British do you think the UK looks right now?

Shall I start with a few pics of the mosque in Regents Park or one of your Islamic Bank of Britain branches?

Start where you like.

I am not CLAIMING the UK looks 'British'.

I am making the point that 'Hellenism' is not 'all around' you or 'everywhere' in Cyprus.

I am not COMPLAINING about the fact that it isn't either.

I am sure there are parts of Cyprus that look a lot like parts of Greece.

There are parts of the UK that still look 'British'. Like in S. Devon and S. Hams where I was living before moving here. No mosques there.

Outside of the mountains and more remote villages, and once off the seafront (well not all the seafront!) most of Cyprus looks like a building site these days.

One of the more beautiful sights where I live (definitely doesn't look 'Hellenic' tho)
