How much for a 1 room apartment in Paphos?

Postby Zelda » Sat Jun 26, 2010 6:47 pm

How much does a one room apartment with a kitchen and a bathroom cost to rent in Paphos per month?

I've seen some websites with prices but I would like to know what the avarage citizen in Paphos would pay. :)

I was offered a new one bed in a small block in Peyia last year for 200 a month if I paid a year up front in cash (I usually do to haggle a good reduction) and if I agreed to put the aircon and cooker in myself.

However, it was VERY small and the pool was miniscule but more than that - the area was like a Ghost Town there were only 2 other occupants in the block. Loads of empty villas and apartments for sale and to let everywhere.

You really need to have a good search around to find something at a good rent. All letting agents seem to charge a standard rent based on number of bedrooms.

It's a good idea to take as short a lease as poss and then look around and ask around once over here. There are empty apartments everywhere.

I have never paid anywhere near what the average cost of rent for apartments seem to be and have been offered more than one for nowt apart from paying the service charges and bills if I look after it and do the garden etc. In fact I have the use of an adjacent apartment for my family now in return for looking after it in the owner's absence and getting it ready for them on the rare occasions they come over.

yea, well i was looking for an apt for my mate,

found many, average if you know nothing about anything they will rep you off about €400. for one bed

but since im now local woo hoo

found 2 bedroom apt for €300 amonth, beautiful apt

also found a smaller 2 bed for 250 but quite old,

and funf 1 bed apt for 270, big, new and clean but no pool in a tourist area
...

there is a lot , cheap if you looking for long term, wonder about in the street you will find signs (apt for rents every where)

That's more realistic, for what you can find if you ask around and look around.

As I said before, you are able to strike a deal for a good discount with even big Agencies like BuySellCyprus (tho I believe they have stopped dealing in Rentals now) if you can afford to pay a year or even 6 months' rent up front in cash. Also check out how much the common charges are going to be if they are not included in the rent (but it's a good idea to get them included - then they cannot go up).

They vary wildly from place to place. I've paid as little as £10 Cyp and heard of some that charge more than 50 euro a month for a one bed with no pool in some places.

For instance there are nice, spacious 2bed apartments with sea view and pool here in Makenzy for around E520 incl. CCs. Others seem cheaper at 495 but carry a whacking 57 euro monthly CCs charge.
