How can we solve it? (keep it civilized)

It’s difficult to explain to a non Greek the meaning of the phrase "the God of the Greeks". This God protects the interests of Greek only and is likely to interfere in important business such as warfare. In fact all victories of the Greek army do not bear a direct relation to the bravery of the Greek soldier but they can be explained on account of divine interference.

The Ottomans were more 'logical'; a crescent aligned with Venus would bode a victory, eclipse of the sun or moon was a disaster.

Ask the Israelis darling.....
realistically EVERY empire or dynasty (including Greece) has invaded somewhere at sometime. Some has been returned but a lot wasnt.
you are familiar with "to the victor the spoils" .

We're not going back to ownership of caves won over from bears and bats. We're talking about the rule of law prevalent since the last century.

Hopefully that will be the last we hear of 1821 then?

And God told George Bush to attack Iraq also, so it appears it is not only a "Greek thing" with their Gods I'm afraid.! We are still waiting for victories there and in Afghanistan. Looks like the NeoCons God has played a cruel trick on them.!

Thanks for the explanation, Bananiot.!

Good luck to those that are going to tangle with the Greek land registration system. Hah Hah! Poor bastards, I almost feel sorry for them.

And those that "prove" that they have a claim are going to get an armed Cretan family out of their house!!!! Now I really pity them.

Crete has the densest ownership of firearms in the world, even more dense than Texas. The authorities accept that gun laws simply cannot be enforced on the island due to the deep ingrained customs. Look it up on the net.

It is only a matter of time before this so called "divine entity" or "God of Greeks" crumbles and is removed from the throne to be replaced by the only one and true Cypriot divine entity who is none other than the divine Goddess Aphrodite who will restore spiritual balance and purge the hypocrisy and temples of ill repute from the island! The Archbishop will then face divine justice where high priests will prosecute and convict the plonker for mass spiritual crimes against the children of Aphrodite. When convicted, he will face swift punishment which could either be any of the following:

1) be burnt at the stake,
2) be crowned with the thrown of fire,
3) be dropped in a tank of boiling water or oil,
4) or be extradited to Turkey!

Amen!

That settles it then! Unless, the Turks care to return everything they previously, and subsequently took off Kurds (Dersim), Greeks, Armenians, and the non-Turks of Hatay!
